EMBRACING CHAOS IN OUR QUEST FOR JOY: UNDERSTADING MIND-BODY DISRUPTIONS AS FEAR OF DISCOVERY

Mario E. Martinez, Psy.D.

Before we can truly experience the abundance of health, wealth and love, we must identify how much unresolved negativity we carry from the past, and how we postpone our “ideal life” for a distant future. Our societal beliefs promote adjusting to our present misery rather than questioning the mind-body-spirit price we pay for delaying our joy. And when we collapse from a chronic crisis, it is labeled as illness or breakdown, rather than a state of transition into higher abundance blocked by fear. In this workshop, participants will learn how to gain freedom from a past that demeans our worthiness, and how to embrace our now with the rewarding life we postpone for the future.

Dr. Martinez is a clinical psychologist who lectures worldwide on his theory of Biocognition (how cultural beliefs affect the immune system and longevity) and on his concept of relationships called Guardians of the Heart. He specializes in psychoneuroimmunology and has published numerous professional articles on biocognition. In his new psychological novel The Man from Autumn, he explores how modern cognitive science and the contemplative methods of Eastern/Western mystical theologies can converge to understand the mystery of stigmata and the psycho-spiritual conflicts that contribute to psychiatric and autoimmune disorders. Dr. Martinez has investigated cases of alleged stigmata for the Catholic Church, the BBC and National Geographic
